Mayens de Riddes in de Winter
The village of Mayens de Riddes, also known as La Tzoumaz or Verbier-Nord, is located in the area of the Rhone Valley in South-West Switzerland, between Martigny and Sion.
La Tzoumaz is located in the larger ski area Les Quatre Vallées (Wallis/Valais) at an altitude of approx. 1.550 m.
The ski area
The Les Quatre Vallées area is snow-sure from December to April and. With its approximately 400 km of slopes and over 90 lifts, Les Quatre Vallées belongs to one of the largest ski areas in Western Europe. The area offers a range of winter sports activities. The slopes are characterized from green to black.
The fast 8-person cabin lift departs from La Tzoumaz (1550 m.) directly to the larger ski area on the northern slope, the Savoleyres, up to an altitude of 2550 m
Various lifts connect you to the larger ski area around the fashionable town of Verbier to Nendaz and to the top of the Mont Fort (+ 3,300 m).
A ski school for beginners and advanced skiers is located near the cabin lift building. The free ski bus departs from the cabin lift building to the practice courts from this ski school.
On the slope of La Tzoumaz (the Savoleyres) an 10 km long sled track has been realized, ending next to the cabin lift in La Tzoumaz. Sledges can be rented there. Since 2016, there is also a Ski-Cross-Park.
